Jeremy Howard

AI Researcher and Entrepreneur

Jeremy developed the ULMFiT algorithm, which led to the development of modern language models that are used by OpenAI, Anthropic, and others. Jeremy was the founding CEO of Enlitic, which was the first company to apply deep learning to medicine, and was selected as one of the world’s top 50 smartest companies by MIT Tech Review two years running. He was the President and Chief Scientist of the data science platform Kaggle, where he was the top-ranked participant in international machine learning competitions 2 years running. He was the founding CEO of two successful Australian startups (FastMail, and Optimal Decisions Group–purchased by Lexis-Nexis). Before that, he spent 8 years in management consulting, at McKinsey & Co, and AT Kearney. Jeremy has invested in, mentored, and advised many startups, and contributed to many open-source projects.

Hamel Husain

AI Engineer

Hamel led early large language model research at GitHub with projects like CodeSearchNet that contributed to GitHub Co-Pilot, the world’s most widely adopted AI developer tool. He has over 25 years of experience implementing AI solutions across industries such as telecommunications, entertainment, and retail, as well as technology companies such as Airbnb and GitHub. He has led or contributed to a wide range of open-source AI tools which are used by thousands of researchers and developers. Finally, Hamel’s affinity for the intersection of AI and law stems from his legal training, as he holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Luke Versweyveld

Attorney and Entrepreneur

Luke Versweyveld is the Founder and Principal Attorney of Cuvée Counsel, providing legal and fractional general counsel services to high-growth startups. Since earning his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, Luke has founded two startups and served as inside and outside counsel to numerous early-stage companies, helping them navigate their legal challenges so they can focus on building. As a frequent user and proponent of legaltech, he is excited about AI’s ability to streamline and transform the industry and provide better outcomes for his clients. When he isn’t practicing law, he helps startups gain visibility through his platform, StartupStage.

Eric Ries

Serial Entrepreneur and Engineering Leader

Eric Ries is the creator of the Lean Startup methodology and the author of the popular entrepreneurship blog Startup Lessons Learned. He previously co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer of IMVU. In 2007, BusinessWeek named Ries one of the Best Young Entrepreneurs of Tech and in 2009 he was honored with a TechFellow award in the category of Engineering Leadership. He serves on the advisory board of a number of technology startups, and has worked as a consultant to a number of startups, companies, and venture capital firms. In 2010, he became an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Harvard Business School.
